Energy storage system

The system decreases voltage fluctuation of power network and reduces electric energy consumption due to no peak load to the power source, as well as uses night tariff to charge ESS.

ESS capacity may be customized on the customer’s request. Operation time under maximum power is reached by application of the accumulator batteries with high current and high number of charge/discharge cycles. See ESS diagram in the Diagram section.

ESS is based on the digital signal processor produced in Russia. The control system (CS) of charging station ensures voltage and current maintenance with accuracy up to 0.5 %. The conversion of AC power into DC power (while charging ESS) and reverse conversion (in case of external power loss) are carried out by means of the reversible inverter. The inverter is designed applying high-power IGBT-transistors, resistant to harsh environment and thermal cycling.

The control system’s functionality:

  • Monitoring of power quality;
  • Protection against emergency operation;
  • Display of ESS operation data on the screen and signaling devices;
  • Operation with upper level Computer-Aided Process Control System.
  • Black box section of the control system to keep records of emergencies and abnormal operation.

Safety and reliability:

  • Cell cycling and aging control system;
  • Individual cell control;
  • Highly reliable battery cells;
  • Own control system ensures emergency shutdown of a module/cabinet to provide maintenance and repair.

ESS may be operated indoors, in heated premises (switchboard rooms) (type NF4 (УХЛ4) according to GOST 15150-69), forced air cooling (IC1А5 according to GOST R IEC 60034-6-2012)**. 

*NeuralGrid(NG) – is a mode-setting control system that maintains power balance and ensures static and dynamic  stability of the power system. NG system modules: power flow controllers (a prototype of a power router); power balance regulators: Battery + DC/DC (ESS); power consumption controllers.
